Volunteers are the heart of St. James Catholic School. Your active involvement enriches our school culture, keeps tuition accessible, and builds a vibrant faith community.
Diocesan Safe Environment Requirements
To protect our students, all parents and family members serving on campus, driving on field trips, or helping in classrooms must complete Diocesan safety clearance prior to volunteering:
Required Family Commitments & Fundraisers All families participate in four key fundraising programs throughout the school year or may choose the "Buyout" option (due by December 31st):

- CMG Training: Complete the online Safe Environment training and certification course.
- Live Scan Fingerprinting: Complete background check clearance processed through the Diocese.
Required Family Commitments & Fundraisers All families participate in four key fundraising programs throughout the school year or may choose the "Buyout" option (due by December 31st):
- Bishop's Car Raffle: Sell 20 tickets (or $200.00 Buyout).
- SCRIP Program: Earn $300.00 in total net gift card earnings (or $300.00 Buyout).
- Walk-a-Thon: Secure $100.00 in total student sponsorships (participation required).
- Special Event Dinner/Dance: Sell 2 tickets to our year-end event (or $200.00 Buyout).
There are many flexible ways to fulfill your service hours around work schedules:
- In the Classroom: Room parent, art docent, or reading assistant.
- On Campus: Recess monitoring, Thursday church safety team, or morning traffic safety team.
- School Events: Walk-a-Thon setup, Special Event planning committees or PAC.
- Athletics & Clubs: Team coaching, score keeping, or club mentorship.
