School Advisory Council
PURPOSE
The general purpose of this School Advisory Council is to identify and articulate the educational needs of St. James the Less Catholic School and to support and implement the philosophy and mission of both the parish and the school, within the guidelines of the Diocese of San Bernardino.
Among the tasks are:
If you would like to address the School Advisory Board, please complete the PUBLIC COMMENT SIGN UP FORM (below) with your written agenda item/topic. Your request must be submitted to the President at least 14 days prior to the scheduled meeting for approval (form may be dropped off at the school office who will send it to the President.) You will be notified in writing as to the date, time and place of the meeting for your opportunity to address the Board.
Please note that topics for the Board include mission, budget/finance, marketing and development, security and facilities and long range planning. Topics that are not to be addressed with the School Advisory Board include teaching staff, curriculum, or other administrative concerns.

- Preparation and implementation of a comprehensive review of the schedule of tuition and fees
- Recommendations for and implementation of a policy regarding tuition assistance
- Working closely with the parish Facilities Manager to address issues relating to capital improvements
- Drafting a five-year strategic plan for Board Activities
- Giving input and making recommendations which became part of the school’s Technology Plan

Note: Several 2-year terms were completed this past year. The school members are in the process of accepting applications. Positions and new members will be posted upon review of incoming applications.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL APPLICATION ~ We are currently recruiting for several positions to serve in an advisory capacity to the Principal. Please consider submitting an application if you have experience with technology, public relations, finance, strategic planning, and or facility-related matters. Appointments are for a 2-year term and require attendance at monthly one-hour meetings which are held during the school year, typically on Wednesday evenings.
